CHIEFS SIGN FIRST-ROUND PICK DE TYSON JACKSON
The Kansas City Chiefs announced on Friday that the club has signed its first-round draft pick DE Tyson Jackson.
Jackson (6-4, 296) joined the Chiefs as the club’s first-round selection (third overall) in the 2009 NFL Draft. He saw action in 53 contests (39 starts) at LSU, registering 122 tackles (55 solo), 18.5 sacks (-92.0 yards), 27.0 tackles for loss, two fumble recoveries, two forced fumbles and 18 passes defensed. He added 33 QB pressures and one interception.
Jackson was a two-way lineman at West St. John High School in Edgard, Louisiana. He was named Louisiana’s 2A Defensive Player of the Year as a senior.
The Chiefs waived LB Weston Dacus on Friday. Dacus played in eight games for Kansas City in 2008.
