Cory Redding Stops By After Practice

Seahawks defensive tackle Cory Redding was able to spend a few minutes with Kevin on Monday. Redding was acquired in the off-season from the Lions in a trade that sent Julian Peterson to Detroit.

Redding was very enthusiastic when discussing the pre-season opener. After playing against teammates for so long, the entire defense was excited for a different opponent. “It was nice to mix it up a little bit and hit a different color jersey than our teammates in practice.”

When asked if he couldn’t wait for the first regular season win, Redding quickly replied by saying, “I was excited for the pre-season win!”

Redding was forced to endure the Lion’s winless season in 2008. It was the first winless campaign since the NFL schedule changed to 16 games in 1978. Redding didn’t beat around the bush or sugar coat the situation. “It was a bad dream you can’t wake up from.”

The Seattle newcomer started off the pre-season with a sack in his first game as a Seahawk. Redding is really excited about the system the Hawks are running on defense. “This defense allows us to not read, not sit, and not look but just go, just attack.”

KC and Dave Wyman were so fired up by Redding’s enthusiasm that they took turns getting into three point stances and going at one another during the break. Both were left with minor injuries when the show resumed.

You can here all of Redding’s comments here.
