MNF: Biggest Game…Ever?

Oct 5, 2009, 6:32 PM | Updated: Apr 4, 2011, 7:55 pm

I predict this Monday Night Football viewership will shatter the ratings of the past. Yes, that’s right sports fans – whether you like it or not, Brett Favre on Monday Night Football is hot and the Packers vs. Vikings rivalry is even hotter. Put these ingredients in a blender, and you get molten lava.

Tbutler814hat being said, I don’t live in Wisconsin or Minnesota – so I called up someone who does. LeRoy Butler, former Safety for the Green Bay Packers (the Super Bowl winning Green Bay Packers), who was a longtime teammate of Favre’s.

He confirmed what I suspected: this is the biggest game in Packer history. This coming from a man who played in two Super Bowls with the Packers and won one of them.

Butler thinks that Favre could’ve avoided some of the media frenzy by coming out and being honest about his feelings towards the Packer organization.

In LeRoy’s words, though, Favre isn’t in the league to make friends. Despite his attitude and everything that’s happened over the past few years, fans still can’t get enough of him.

When asked who he’s rooting for tonight – LeRoy gives it to me straight: “If you’re not in green and gold, I’m not rooting for you.”

LeRoy is watching the game with about 50 people, half of them breast cancer survivors. He runs The LeRoy Butler Foundation, which focuses on taking the financial burden off of women being treated for breast cancer. Tonight, he hopes to alleviate the burn of Brett Favre’s betrayal to his fans.
