What a great way to come home, right Seahawks fans? I’m not kidding – I was worried. With the way San Francisco looked through their first few weeks, a Wild Card Shot was all that looked likely for Seahawks’ hopes. Let’s be honest here – that was a stretch too.

But hope has returned! Oh joyous day! Not only did the Seahawks take the Jaguars to task – they whooped ’em! Bottom line – the Seahawks looked GOOD this Burlesonweekend and that’s all we can ask. John Clayton, our Pigskin Professor, echoed my new hope, stating, “Even though they were two games down a week ago, one win turns everything back…3 and 3 at the bye is just where they need to be.”

Seahawks offensive coordinator, Greg Knapp was kind enough to join me today to reflect on the game, and noted immediately, “What a difference a week makes, huh?”

Coach Knapp was quick to give credit to recently returned QB, Matt Hasselbeck. “His experience is invaluable…we ended up having 46 plays by halftime, where typically you’ll have 65 in a game.” I also asked him about the importance of Knappspreading the ball around on offense, to which he remarked, “No one guy needs to take the bull by the horns…because then the defense will be able to take that player away.”

Owen Schmitt’s ‘motivational tactics’ grabbed my attention as well. Dave Wyman joined me for the show today, and he’s consistently maintained that “To play football, you have to be a little wrong in the head.” We touched base with Dave Wyman’s former Bronco teammate, Mark Schlereth to fill us in on what he thought about it – two words pretty much said it all: “Not bright.”

All in all, Seahawks fans – I’m buying. I’m buying into Matt Hasselbeck, I’m buying into Aaron Curry and I’m buying this Seahawks franchise! Tell me how you feel about your Hawks – feel free to leave your comments below and I’ll be sure to read them, discuss them, and possibly bring them to the air.
