It’s Official: Cliff Lee Is A Mariner

Joy to the world! Am I right? Wow, this trade really light’s up the Great Northwest, doesn’t it?
I heard some disappointment from you fans out there after Jack Zduriencik and his crew left the winter meetings with no deals in place. But this is the way Mr. Z works – and he’s making quite a case for your trust, if he didn’t already have it.
Ok – pitching is in place to be one of the strongest in the American League – what I want to know now is where they’re going to get their ‘pop!’. The addition of Chone Figgins will certainly help, but the Mariners will need a little more than that to give these guys the run support they deserve.
But that’s for another day – we’ve got three months until spring training and a lot could happen in that time. Right now – rejoice! For your 1-2 punch is a knockout in Felix Hernandez and Cliff Lee.
