Kevin Calabro and John McGrath of the Tacoma News Tribune discussed the current state of the Mariners season after being swept by the Angels and changes to the starting lineup. The biggest changes are Chone Figgons moving from second to ninth and Mike Carp replacing Casey Kotchman and hitting fifth.
Despite the team’s struggles over the weekend, John and Kevin have reasons why Mariners fans should still “Believe Big,” including 21-year-old Michael Saunders, who Kevin talked about during the show.
“He needs to play everyday. He’s show great speed, defense, and I think he’s a guy who could potentially hit for some power. I think he’ll grow into that big frame of his and think he’s demonstrated over the last couple of weeks some savvy with the bat.”
You can read John’s column about why fans should continue to believe in the Mariners at the Tacoma News Tribune’s website.
