Aug. 25: What you missed
In the downtime between today’s Mariners-Red Sox doubleheader, Kevin Calabro and the “Go 2 Guy” Jim Moore checked in from the VMAC as the Seahawks continue to prepare for their upcoming preseason matchup with the Vikings.
Rookie defensive end Dexter Davis stopped by after practice. Davis, a seventh-round draft pick, talked about his draft day experience.
“I was just with my family on draft day, and it was a long day,” Davis said. “I was expecting to come off the board a little sooner than I did, but I’m happy with the situation and the way things ended up, and I’m going to make the most of it.”
Davis also talked about sacking Husky quarterback Jake Locker during his time at Arizona State, where he started a school record 50 games.
After admitting that Locker’s size made it tough to bring him down, Davis added: “Yeah, he’s fast.”
