Oklahoma City Thunder player Kevin Durant is showing some love for the city that gave him his start.

A photo of Durant wearing a Sonics hat was snapped by The Oklahoman’s Darnell Mayberry at pre-game practice on Monday.

Durant also posted an image of himself wearing the hat to his Instagram account four days ago with the message: “Shout out to @givenchydonc for the Snakeskin blend and Seattle I still got lots of love for ya.”

Durant began his NBA career in Seattle, playing one season for the Sonics before they were moved to Oklahoma City.

This week is a big one for the city of Seattle and the NBA as Sonics fans eagerly await news on the NBA Board of Governors’ upcoming decision on the potential sale of the Sacramento Kings to a Seattle investment group.

Durant has previously said Seattle is a great NBA city, and told KING 5’s Chris Daniels last year he hoped there’d be talks to get a team back here.
