The starting five….

G- Chris Gweth

– 2006-Present- Gweth has never missed a game for
Seattle University and just played number 100 in his
career at Key Arena on Saturday. Gweth has been a steady
force for SU in the transition back to Division I. He is
currently 2nd on the team in scoring at 11.5 points per
game. This would be the third year in a row he would
finish in double figures after averaging 10.8 as a junior
and 10.5 as a sophomore. The sharpshooter is 6th in the
history of Seattle University for three-point field goals
made and three-point field goal percentage. He is also 8th
all-time in swipes. Seattle U won at least 18 games in
each of the first three seasons of Gweth’s career
including a Division II playoff run to conclude the 2006-
07 season. His level of play has risen with the
competition. He is currently averaging 17 points per game
in his last 7 contests.

G- Ryan Webb

– 2003-07- No one in the history of Seattle University
basketball has dished it out at a higher rate than Webb.
The unselfish point guard concluded his SU career at 5.3
assists per game edging out Dave Anderson (81-85) 5.2 and
Carl Ervin (76-80) 5.0. He is 4th in the history of the
GNAC conference with 548 assists and a 5.27 average. Webb
helped lead SU to a national ranking his senior year and a
two game run into the postseason. He averaged 10 points
6.5 assists and 3.9 rebounds a game his final season in an
SU uniform.

G- Bernard Seals

– 2004-06- The career for Seals was short, but sweet at
SU. The scorer averaged 18.5 points per game in his two-
year career which sits 9th all-time in GNAC history and
1st in the Division II era for SU. Seals received 2nd team
GNAC honors his junior year and honorable mention as a
senior. He helped lead Seattle to their second winning
season in 13 years in his final campaign. He tickled the
twine for 30 points or more 5 times in his career.

F- Mike Boxley

– 2006-Present- Boxley has been a rock for Seattle his
entire career and has had a large hand in smoothing the
transition to Division I. Boxley has appeared in 100 games
in his Seattle career, starting 88 of them. He is
currently 6th in career steals at SU. He is less than 10
away from climbing into the top 4. The rugged forward is
having his best offensive campaign in his career averaging
8.5 points on ultra-efficient 52% FG, 44% 3 and 85% FT. He
torched the twine for a career high 21 points against
Loyola Marymount on December 30, 2009. Boxley is a
tenacious player who maximizes his potential and
contributes in ways that do not always show up in box
scores.

F- Jeffrey McDaniel

– 2002-06- McDaniel dominates the Division II portion
of the SU record book finishing first in points (1,268)
and rebounds (725). He was a 2nd team GNAC selection in
his final campaign leading SU to only their 2nd winning
season in 13 years. Seattle ripped off wins in 4 of their
last 5 games to finish 16-11 which set the table for a 20
win season and playoff run the following season. McDaniel
exploded for a career high 29 points while adding 12
rebounds in a 90-76 upset over nationally ranked cross-
town rival Seattle Pacific University in one of his last
appearances in an SU uniform.
