The University of Washington has been selected to host the second and third rounds of the 2015 NCAA Men’s Basketball tournament at KeyArena. It will be the first time the tournament has been hosted in Seattle since 2004.

Washington State University will host rounds two and three in 2014 at Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum in Spokane.

“The bid process was as competitive as ever, with 53 cities expressing the desire to be a part of one of the world’s premier sporting events,” NCAA vice president of men’s basketball Dan Gavitt said in a press release. “We are thrilled for our hosts for the ’14 and 15 tournaments, as they include a mix of cities that have proven over the course of several decades how to stage this great event as well as cities that have come on to the scene in recent years and have embraced the tournament.”

Of special note, the tournament will return Madison Square Garden for the first time in 53 years with the 2014 East Regionals taking place there.

In addition to Seattle, Jacksonville, Louisville, Pittsburgh, Portland, Charlotte, Columbus, and Omaha will host second- and third-round games. The Final Four will be held in Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium.
