“I’m going to enter the 2014 draft,” he said, as reported by The Seattle Times’ Adam Jude. “(It’s) very exciting. The idea that I can provide for my mother and play at the highest level in the world for football and compete against the best guys in the world – it’s a very exciting idea. I’m very excited for the next chapter in my life.”
Seferian-Jenkins is the 2013 John Mackey Award winner, given annually to the best tight end in the nation. The 6-foot-6, 276-pound Fox Island native caught 36 passes for 450 yards and eight touchdowns this season, including three catches for 37 yards and a score in Friday’s win.
Seferian-Jenkins is the school record-holder among tight ends in career receptions (146), career receiving yards (1,840), career touchdown receptions (21), single-season receptions (69, 2012) and single-season receiving yards (852, 2012).
