Mike Leach, WSU speculation heating up

Mason Kelley of The Seattle Times tweeted Wednesday that a source told Kelley’s father Steve, a columnist for The Times, that Leach is “on his way to WSU.”

When asked via Twitter to clarify, Mason Kelley responded with this: “On his way to being hired.”

After announcing the firing of head coach Paul Wulff on Tuesday, Washington State athletic director Bill Moos said during a press conference that Leach is on his short list of candidates.

Leach was reportedly absent from his Sirius XM radio show Tuesday.
