The Washington and Seattle University women’s basketball teams’ seasons will continue in the Women’s National Invitational Tournament.

Both squads have accepted bids to the WNIT, and will start the 32-team, single-elimination tournament this week.

The Huskies (20-11) will take on Eastern Washington (19-12) Friday at American Airlines Arena, while the Redhawks open Thursday at St. Mary’s.

Seattle U earned an automatic bid to the WNIT by winning the WAC regular season title.

The Huskies and Redhawks could meet in the quarterfinals if each team wins three games. It would be the second time they meet this season — Washington defeated Seattle U 77-75 in overtime at Key Arena in November.
