Gonzaga drew the No. 8 seed in the West Region and will be the lone Washington state representative in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament.

The Zags (28-6) will meet No. 9 seed Oklahoma State (21-12) Friday in San Diego to start the Big Dance. The winner will face the winner of No. 1 seed Arizona (30-4) and No. 16 Weber State (19-11) Sunday.

Gonzaga’s NCAA bid is its 16th straight. The Bulldogs won the West Coast Conference regular season and tournament championships this season.

Forward/center Sam Dower leads the team with 15 points per game and 7.1 rebounds per game. Guard Kevin Pangos averages 14.1 points and 3.7 assists per game.

Oklahoma State is paced by controversial guard Marcus Smart, who averages 17.8 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game. He served a one-game suspension and made national headlines after he shoved a fan following a verbal altercation in a Feb. 8 game at Texas Tech.
