A win, what a special feeling.
Soccer is a great sport for you the fans. In most sports when you dominate statistically you usually win the game. That is not always the case in soccer. For coaches that is very disturbing. For fans it is great because you are never far from a victory, especially on any given day.
Now we need to build on this victory and continue to gain confidence. Going on the road is something we look forward to for several reasons. One, we have no choice. Second, all kidding aside, we feel we are a good road team. We have speed to counter and the pressure is on the other team to attack. This gives us space in the attacking third that we can use to create chances.
Philly
They are a team that is confident right now and is playing the game very close to the vest. They do not give up many chances and have three shutouts. All their games have been 1-0, three have been wins and one a loss. We will need to be prepared to break down a team that will get everyone back.
I look forward to seeing old players who have come back to the league. Carlos Ruiz was MVP the year we won MLS Cup with the Galaxy and it is good to see him back from three years overseas. He is a competitor who will seek any advantage he can. But we will be ready.
I am looking forward to this weekend and our team is eager to get more points and continue to move forward in the standings.
Take care
Sigi
