The Toronto game was a great game for us based upon the result and all the emotion that went into it. The team played with pride and desire for themselves and their missing teammates.
We miss Steve Zakuani and O’Brian White and wish them a speedy recovery. The outpouring of support from you the fans has been great. As a team we want our energy to motivate you and your return energy to drive us on. Last Saturday was a good example of that happening.
Now we are on the road and these two games will be tough. DC United is an angry and hungry team that has not had good results lately. They will come out flying on Wednesday motivated by their coach, crowd and their own pride. It will be a hard fought and dangerous game for us. We need to be ready and withstand the early part of the game when they are full of energy.
Then we are off to Columbus, another team that wants to even a score from last year. They are also on a good streak and giving up few goals. Their 4-5-1 system has proved effective for them and they are very confident right now.
The task is hard with travel, time changes and two games in four days on the road. We miss our teammates who are not here and think about them every day. We are also focused on our next task and need to approach each day with renewed commitment and vigor. We are ready, but it will be a tough trip. But as I always say, if it was easy anyone could do it.
We are ready!
