Sounders FC coach Sigi Schmid said there is a good chance forward Fredy Montero will miss his second consecutive match.
Schmid said there is swelling in Montero’s surgically repaired right wrist, and doctors would like it to calm down before letting Montero compete full out in a game. Schmid says unless there is a dramatic change Friday, it’s unlikely Montero will play Saturday against the Chicago Fire.
Montero has been doing some light work in practice.
The Sounders played to a 2-2 tie without Montero at San Jose last weekend. Seattle got goals from O’Brian White and Brad Evans. Mauro Rosales had one of the assists, and could be Montero’s replacement up top in Seattle’s attack.
Hear the match at 1 p.m. Saturday with Arlo White’s play by play on 97.3 KIRO FM.
