SEATTLE SEAHAWKS
Seahawks Injury Report: 3 out, 4 questionable vs KC; Lockett outlook

The Seahawks set their initial injury report Thursday afternoon for their 10 a.m. Saturday game against the AFC West-leading Kansas City Chiefs, with three players out and four listed as questionable.
Out
• Ryan Neal, safety (knee)
• Tyler Lockett, wide receiver (hand)
• Al Woods, nose tackle (Achilles)
Questionable
• DeeJay Dallas, running back (ankle)
• Noah Fant, tight end (knee)
• Marquise Goodwin, wide receiver (wrist/ankle)
• Kenneth Walker III, running back (ankle/back)
Thursday on KIRO Newsradio 97.3 FM’s Pete Carroll Preview, Seattle’s head coach provided some insight on a few of the players on the injury report. Here’s a look at what Carroll said.
Latest on Woods and Walker
The continued absence of Al Woods is only going to make it tougher for Seattle (7-7) against Patrick Mahomes and the No. 1-ranked offense of the Chiefs (11-3). Carroll is hopeful this will be the last game out for Woods, who missed the Seahawks’ loss to the 49ers on Dec. 15.
“Maybe next week he’ll have a shot at it,” Carroll said.
Seahawks’ Smith, Woolen, Diggs and Myers earn Pro Bowl nods
As for Walker, while he is questionable, Carroll is optimistic he’ll be good to go Saturday. Walker missed a Dec. 11 game but played last week.
“We kept him quiet early in the week and he’s made some some strides to get back in there and do some stuff,” Carroll said.
Seahawks without Lockett
Star veteran receiver Tyler Lockett suffered a fracture in his hand near the end of the 49ers game that required surgery. While Lockett was hopeful that same night he would only need to miss one game, Carroll’s comments Thursday made it seem like Lockett will need another week.
“We’re gonna miss him but maybe he gets back in a couple of weeks, and if that’s possible, he’s gonna do it,” he said. “… He’s an amazing competitor and a great player and we’re lucky to have him and maybe we could see him back before long.”
Carroll knows Seattle has a challenge in playing without Lockett.
“I’m often asked over the years, ‘Can you replace this guy?’ No, no, Tyler Lockett, you can’t replace the guy,” Carroll said with a chuckle. “He’s a phenomenal, once-in-a-career as a coach kind of player, but there’s guys that can do great stuff and we’re going to call on them to do that. That’s where they have to step up and be ready to take advantage of the opportunity, just like Tyler did when he was a pup and all that.”
