As he nears the end of his first season in Major League Soccer, Seattle Sounders FC goalkeeper Kasey Keller thinks he’s got enough left to play beyond the initial two-year contract he signed with the Sounders.
Keller, the former U.S. national team keeper, has hinted he would like to still be playing for the Sounders when expansion teams in Portland and Vancouver are expected to join the MLS in 2011. After Seattle’s practice on Tuesday, Keller said he would be surprised if he still wasn’t in goal when the 2011 season starts.
Keller signed a two-year deal with Seattle in August 2008 after more than a decade playing in the top leagues in Europe. The most capped goalkeeper in U.S. national team history will turn 40 in late November.
