Seattle Sounders FC midfielder Nate Jaqua is expected to miss at least another month following abdominal surgery.
The team announced Thursday that the 29-year-old Jaqua had surgery on Wednesday in Philadelphia to repair his lower abdomen.
The Sounders expect him to rejoin team training in four to six weeks.
Jaqua is entering his ninth MLS season. He started 27 of his 28 games for Seattle last season and scored a career-high nine goals.
He was placed on injured reserve March 25, just hours before the season opener. He is required to miss the first six games.
