Seahawks Football 101: Kenneth Walker III breaking out for TDs

The 2022 Seahawks NFL Draft class is receiving a lot of praise with the team sitting in first place in the NFC West through seven weeks, and running back Kenneth Walker III is one of the reasons.

Walker, a second-round pick out of Michigan State by Seattle, is making the most of his opportunity to be the lead runner out of the Seahawks’ backfield following Rashaad Penny’s season-ending leg injury in Week 5.
First, Walker ran for 88 yards on eight carries, including a 69-yard touchdown run, in Week 5 against New Orleans (the game in which Penny suffered his injury). The next week, Walker ran the ball 21 times for 97 yards and a score in a win over Arizona.
The best came last Sunday, however.
Against the Chargers on the road, Walker ran for 168 yards – his first 100-yard game in the NFL – and two scores on 23 attempts, playing a big role in Seattle’s 37-23 win. Watch both his TD runs below:

All that made Walker an easy choice for Dave Wyman to spotlight in this week’s edition of Football 101, which you can watch in the video at this link or at the top of this post.
Wyman, a former NFL linebacker who now co-hosts Seattle Sports’ Wyman and Bob from 2-7 p.m. each weekday and serves as color commentator for games on the Seahawks Radio Network alongside play-by-play man Steve Raible, breaks down the plays on both of Walker’s TD runs from the Chargers game. He also shares some observations about how the Hawks are playing in general at the start of the video.
