Mariners Breakdown: After win streak, is offense where it needs to be?
Sep 6, 2022, 3:30 PM
The Mariners already had a memorable win streak earlier this year, winning 14 straight to go into the MLB All-Star break, a surge that brought their season back to life.
MLB’s Jon Morosi: Mariners’ pitching is as deep and certain as any
That no doubt was big, but don’t discount their recent seven-game win streak – the second-longest of their season – that has helped their chances of taking the American League’s top wild card spot.
The M’s won seven straight before Monday’s loss to the White Sox, and it was a big seven wins as six of them came on an undefeated road trip against the Detroit Tigers and AL Central Division-leading Cleveland Guardians. Perhaps the biggest thing about that win streak is the Mariners’ offense seemed as productive as it’s been at any point this season, with Seattle scoring four runs or more in each of the seven wins, and pushing at least one run across in the first inning of each of the last five games on that streak.
Is the offense finally where it needs to be for the M’s? In the latest Mariners breakdown video with Seattle Sports’ Bob Stelton, he addresses that and much more.
