Wyman’s Seahawks Takeaways: Lock’s mistake, Boye Mafe’s big debut

There was perhaps more intrigue entering Saturday’s Seahawks game than any preseason opener of the past decade, and nobody was closer to the action in Pittsburgh than our own Dave Wyman.
Seahawks QB Battle: Huard on Lock’s fumble, Geno’s night
The co-host of Wyman and Bob (who we like to refer to as Seattle Sports’ resident linebacker) was in the radio announce booth calling the game as the color commentator alongside Steve Raible on Saturday night in his regular gig for the Seahawks Radio Network. Needless to say, as soon as he returned to the office on Monday, we couldn’t wait to ask him about what he had to saw this weekend at Acrisure Stadium.
Taking a page from our usual Mariners breakdown videos with Bob Stelton (Wyman’s co-host), we grilled the former Seahawks and Broncos linebacker with a few questions about the Hawks’ 32-25 loss to the Steelers on Saturday night. In the video, which you can watch at the top of this post, Wyman shares:
• Why rookie pass rusher Boye Mafe was his star of the night for Seattle
• What makes quarterback Drew Lock’s sack and lost fumble in the fourth quarter such a big deal
• His biggest concern for the Seahawks coming out of the preseason opener on Saturday
• If he thinks the Hawks’ new 3-4 defensive front is going to be a success

And catch Wyman both from 2-7 p.m. on Wyman and Bob every Monday through Friday on Seattle Sports Station 710 AM, and on the call for every Seahawks game on the radio this season.
Rookie class may be why Seahawks lean toward Geno Smith at QB
