Seattle Kraken have a 3rd game postponed Tuesday vs Arizona
For the third time in four days, the Seattle Kraken have had a game pushed back due to reasons related to COVID-19.
Tuesday’s 7 p.m. game at Climate Pledge Arena against the Arizona Coyotes has been postponed due to the state of the Kraken’s roster. The Kraken also had Sunday’s scheduled game against Toronto postponed on Saturday due to COVID issues with the Maple Leafs, and a game scheduled for this Thursday against Calgary moved back last Friday to a date to be determined because of the Flames’ COVID situation.
COVID-19 has been a major problem in recent days for the NHL, which opted Sunday to postpone any games pitting Canadian and American teams against each other. The Kraken-Coyotes game marked the 44th postponement this season in the league, 39 of which have come in the last week, per NHL reporter Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff. Seravalli also reported Monday after that sources have told him a possible league-wide shutdown is being considered starting Tuesday.
Sources say there has been conversation today about a possible league-wide shutdown effective tomorrow. The situation remains very fluid. No decision yet.
Now just 7 games left before Christmas break.

The Kraken last played Saturday, falling 5-3 to the Edmonton Oilers in Seattle. Their next scheduled game is Monday, Dec. 27 at Vancouver, a game that would be postponed if the NHL ban of cross-border games isn’t lifted by then. The next Kraken game against a fellow American team is set for Wednesday, Dec. 29 at home against Philadelphia.
