HAMILTON, N.Y. (AP) — Grant Breneman threw a touchdown pass and ran for 119 yards and a score and the Colgate defense did the rest as the Raiders cruised to a 30-3 victory over Lehigh in a Patriot League opener on Saturday.

Breneman opened the scoring with a 9-yard TD run on Colgate’s first possession. The two-play, 27-yard drive was set up when Collin Heard intercepted Dante Perri’s first pass of the game. The Raiders (1-3, 1-0) pushed their lead to 14-0 on their second possession — scoring on Garrett Oakey’s 9-yard run. Dylan Van Dusen pulled the Mountain Hawks (0-4, 0-1) within 14-3 with a 32-yard field goal early in the second quarter, but Jacob Jaworski answered with a 27-yard field and Breneman connected with Myles Bradley for a 20-yard TD to make it 24-3 at halftime. Jaworski added field goals of 34 and 40 yards in the second half.

Perri completed 13 of 19 passes for 46 yards with one pick for Lehigh. The Mountain Hawks were held to 55 yards on 26 carries, finishing with only 101 yards of offense.

Breneman was 14-of-24 passing for 169 yards for Colgate. The Raiders had 449 yards of offense, including 280 on the ground.
