A close look at all 30 Kraken expansion draft picks

The inaugural Seattle Kraken NHL schedule has been released for the 2021-22 season, with the team’s home opener at brand new Climate Pledge Arena coming six games into the season. That will be quite the opening contest, as well – it be featured in the bright lights on Saturday, Oct. 23 against Seattle’s nearest rival, the Vancouver Canucks.

Prior to opening the doors at the arena at Seattle Center, the Kraken will play five games on the road to kick off their debut season, with the first NHL game in franchise history set for Oct. 12 against the next-youngest team in the league, the Las Vegas Golden Knights.

The Canucks game will start a four-game homestand for the Kraken, who will also host the Montreal Canadiens on Oct. 26, the Minnesota Wild on Oct. 28, and the New York Rangers on Halloween. Seattle will also have a six-game homestand from Nov. 11-24, five games at Climate Pledge Arena in a row from Dec. 29 through Jan. 6, and another six-game homestand from Jan. 15-26.

You can view the entire schedule in the tweet from the official Seattle Kraken account embedded below.

The Kraken also have six preseason games scheduled. They are:

• Sept. 26: Kraken vs. Vancouver Canucks (6 p.m., at Spokane Arena)
• Sept. 28: Kraken at Edmonton Oilers
• Sept. 29: Kraken at Calgary Flames
• Oct. 1: Kraken vs. Oilers (7 p.m., at Everett’s Angel of the Winds Arena)
