The Seahawks weren’t expected to make any roster moves this week. Everyone is on vacation and very little is happening on the signing front.

Well, the Seahawks made a move Wednesday, and it was understandable. They waived undrafted wide receiver Tamorrion Terry, cutting their roster to 89. Terry was indicted on a murder charge late last month stemming from a shooting in 2018.

UDFA Tamorrion Terry recently indicted on murder charge in Georgia

The former Florida State receiver was indicted on a felony charge in a nightclub shooting on June 30, 2018. The shooting, which authorities deemed was gang related, occurred outside the Studio 2.0 nightclub in Ashburn, Ga., where 150 to 200 people were attending an event labeled “County versus County.” An argument allegedly erupted between rival gangs and guns started firing at around 2:30 a.m.

Terry was among 11 people indicted on June 22.

In college, the 6-foot-3 Terry was receiver who had 2,221 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns in three seasons. He went undrafted, and while chances of making the Seahawks out of training camp probably weren’t good, he did look like an interesting athlete in OTAs and minicamp.

When the murder charge came out, the Seahawks wasted no time in cutting him.

Last year, the Seahawks stood by cornerback Quinton Dunbar because they sensed the armed robbery charge against him for being at a craps game in which alleged victims claimed a gun was pulled on them didn’t add up. Dunbar explained that he wasn’t involved. The thought was that was the alleged victims were trying to extort money from Dunbar and former New York Giants first-round choice Deandre Baker. The Giants released Baker while the Seahawks waited to see how things unfolded for Dunbar.

Ultimately, the charges were dropped for both players. We’ll see how it goes for Terry.
