Seahawks rookie OT Stone Forsythe’s strengths and what he needs to learn

The Seahawks found an offensive tackle they like late in the 2021 NFL Draft, even trading up nine spots in order to take Florida’s Stone Forsythe in the sixth round early last month.

Heaps: Three young Seahawks defenders who must step up in ’21

It’s easy to see what drew Forsythe to the Hawks – he’s huge. But it’s also easy to see that, as 710 ESPN Seattle’s Dave Wyman says, he will be a project.

In the latest edition of Seahawks Football 101, Wyman turns his attention to Seattle’s third and final draft choice from this year after profiling second-round selection D’Wayne Eskridge and fourth-rounder Tre Brown.

Wyman, a former NFL linebacker who now co-hosts Wyman and Bob on 710 ESPN Seattle and serves as the color commentator on the Seahawks Radio Network, explains in the video what he sees as the strengths for the 6-foot-8, 307-pound Forsythe as well as what he could stand to learn from starting left tackle Duane Brown and the other Seahawks offensive lineman.

And if you’re wondering how 5-11 quarterback Russell Wilson will be able to see plays developing downfield with a 6-8 tackle in front of him, Wyman has an explanation for that, too.
