Sam Farmer of The Los Angeles Times tweeted Tuesday morning that there is a “good chance” Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer will be a Seahawk.
“When the dust settles, I think there’s a good chance Carson Palmer winds up in Seattle.”
ESPN’s John Clayton disagrees. He joined Brock & Salk after Farmer’s tweet and maintained his stance that Bengals owner Mike Brown won’t trade Palmer.
“There’s no chance for there being any truth to that because Mike Brown — under no circumstance — is going to trade Carson Palmer,” Clayton said. “He is going to be a Bengal or not play whatsoever.”
Palmer has reportedly threatened to retire if his trade demands aren’t met. Clayton doesn’t think Brown will budge.
“He’s not going to adhere to a player that wants to put a threat to him,” Clayton said. “He never has, and he won’t.”
