Schedule Notes

• With the new 17-game regular season, the Seahawks will have nine road games and eight home games. Seattle will be home for two of its three preseason games, though.

• The Seahawks again will be a major primetime team in 2021 with five primetime games, including three in a row from Week 5 to Week 7. Three of Seattle’s primetime games will be in Seattle while two are on the road. It is worth noting, though, that the NFL can flex the Seahawks in and out of primetime games from Week 7 onward, aside from the team’s Monday Night Football game against Washington in Week 12.

• Unlike the last two seasons, the Seahawks will close the season against the Cardinals and not the 49ers. Seattle did play in Arizona in Week 17 of last year, however, due to the 49ers dealing with strict COVID-19 restrictions in California.

• The Seahawks face the entirety of the NFC West twice (as per usual), as well as all four teams in the AFC South and NFC North.

• The Seahawks face the Packers, Washington Football Team and Saints as those three teams, like the Seahawks, won their divisions in 2020.

• When the schedule officially became a 17-game schedule, the Steelers were added to the Seahawks’ list of opponents as the Steelers were an AFC division winner.

• Seattle will be the first team to face Carson Wentz in a Colts uniform. The No. 2 pick of the 2016 NFL Draft was traded to Indianapolis from the Philadelphia Eagles this offseason.

• Looking at opposing quarterbacks, he Seahawks will see a Drew Brees-less Saints team as he retired, and they may see a Aaron Rodgers-less Packers team a it’s reported he wants out of Green Bay. What Seattle will see, though, is No. 1 pick Trevor Lawrence of the Jaguars, who Seattle faces in Week 8 on Halloween.

• And after no fans in the stands for Seattle’s home games last year, there should be fans in some capacity in 2021, either in starting in Seattle’s second preseason game or in the Week 2 home opener against the Titans.
