The Seahawks could have their first 1,000-yard rusher in six years, as running back Marshawn Lynch stands 146 yards away from the benchmark this season. Not since Shaun Alexander’s MVP season of 2005 have the Seahawks had a 1,000-yard rusher on their team, as Julius Jones, T.J. Duckett, Edgerrin James and Justin Forsett couldn’t accomplish the illustrious feat by themselves.
With Lynch’s contract set to expire at the end of the season, should head coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Schneider sign Lynch to a long-term extension?
In Friday’s Show Wrap video, Mike Salk explains why the Seahawks shouldn’t overpay Lynch considering he’s near the end of his prime.
