Offensive line depth helped the Seahawks produce a 1,200-yard rusher in 2011 despite losing their starting left tackle, right guard and right tackle to season-ending injuries.

They’re apparently looking to add more. The Seahawks hosted veteran offensive lineman Frank Omiyale for a visit Monday. According to Clare Farnsworth of Seahawks.com, Omiyale was set to take a physical.
Omiyale, 29, has started 31 games over the last three seasons for the Bears, who cut him earlier this month. Listed as a tackle, Omiyale played three positions on the offensive line while with Chicago. Omiyale, a fifth-round pick in 2005, also has a connection to Seahawks offensive line/assistant head coach Tom Cable, who coached the Falcons’ offensive line in 2006 when Omiyale was in his second year with Atlanta.
Paul McQuistan, who stepped in at left tackle when Russell Okung was injured, is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent. Among offensive linemen who started at least one game for Seattle last season, he is the only one not under contract for 2012.
Because he was cut by the Bears, Omiyale can sign before unrestricted free agency begins March 13.
