49ers linebacker Patrick Willis has made the Pro Bowl in all five of his NFL seasons. He’s been a first-team All-Pro the last four seasons and was the league’s defensive rookie of the year in 2007, the year San Francisco drafted him in the first round.

Given those credentials, it was noteworthy when Seahawks fullback Michael Robinson said Thursday that he sees some similarities between Willis, his former teammate in San Francisco, and rookie linebacker Bobby Wagner, Seattle’s second-round pick.

“Very explosive. He is a guy that can run sideline to sideline,” Robinson told a group of reporters that included Mike Sando of ESPN.com. “He’s learning. He’s still a young guy learning how to get off blocks in the National Football League. But he is going to be another special player one day. I call him a baby Patrick Willis because I hadn’t seen a linebacker move like that since Pat.”

Sando discussed Robinson’s comments when he joined “Bob and Groz” shortly after. In the video below, Bob Stelton and Dave Grosby discuss that comparison and Wagner’s chances of beating out veteran Barrett Ruud to be Seattle’s starting middle linebacker.
