Seahawks coach Pete Carroll seemed open to the possibility of Terrell Owens returning at some point when discussing the decision to release the veteran receiver, which the team did Sunday.
“He showed some really cool things to us in practice. It didn’t show up in the games maybe as much as he would have liked and all. But we think we have a good sense for what he can do, and there may be a time when he might be really valuable to us down the road,” Carroll told “Brock and Salk” on Monday.
Owens caught two passes for 41 yards this preseason, both coming in Seattle’s win over Kansas City on Friday. He was held without a catch despite five targets against Denver the week before. One of his two drops this preseason would have resulted in a 46-yard touchdown.
In the video below, Bob Stelton and Dave Grosby discuss the likelihood of Owens returning to the Seahawks.
