Second-year wide receiver Kris Durham will be among the players cut when the Seahawks trim their roster to 53, Danny O’Neil of The Seattle Times reports.
Durham, a fourth-round pick out of Georgia, had three catches in three games as a rookie before his season ended with a shoulder injury. He had a 25-yard catch on Thursday, but otherwise has had an uninspiring preseason and training camp.
Durham’s health might still be an issue, as O’Neil reports he’s “banged up” and could be out two to three weeks. The nature of the injury wasn’t specified.
Durham would become the second fourth-round pick drafted under coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Schneider to be released. Defensive end E.J. Wilson, a fourth-round pick in 2010, was released later that season.
NFL teams have until 6 p.m. Friday to reduce their rosters from 75 to 53.
Update: O’Neil’s latest report says wide receiver Deon Butler will be cut as well.
