A new name showed up on the Seahawks’ injury list on Thursday. Linebacker Leroy Hill did not participate due to a calf injury. As expected, right tackle Breno Giacomini (pectoral) and right guard John Moffitt (knee) were both non-participants as well.
Coach Pete Carroll told reporters earlier in the week that Paul McQuistan might move from left guard to right guard if James Carpenter has a good practice week on the left side. McQuistan is capable of playing both guard and tackle spots.
Defensive lineman Jason Jones did not participate due to a knee problem. Rookie defensive linemen Greg Scruggs and Jaye Howard were limited in practice with wrist and foot injuries, respectively.
Will the Seattle defense have to face St. Louis running back Steven Jackson on Sunday? He sat out a second straight day of practice on Thursday with a groin issue. Offensive tackle Rodger Saffold did not participate, and former Seahawks lineman Wayne Hunter was limited with a knee issue.
Seahawks defensive coordinator Gus Bradley is pleased with the pass rush but concerned that his guys are making too many penalties on third downs. That’s been allowing opponents to sustain scoring drives.
Bradley plans to warn the defense Friday about the Rams’ offensive potential in their home stadium.
