Linebacker K.J. Wright said creating more turnovers is one way the Seahawks’ already-strong defense can improve.
“I don’t know how many we have, but it’s not enough,” he told “Bob and Groz” on Thursday. “We’ve just got to be able to create more turnovers, help out the offense, create a short field, just get off the field more.”
Through four games, Seattle’s defense ranks fourth in yards and second in points but has forced only four turnovers (their special teams have also recovered a fumble and returned a blocked punt for a score).
On paper, Sunday’s game against Carolina looks like a chance to pad that total. Quarterback Cam Newton has thrown five interceptions and has fumbled twice.
In the video below, Bob Stelton and Dave Grosby say Wright and the Seahawks’ other linebackers will be especially important against Newton and Carolina’s rushing attack.
