The Seahawks head to Chicago with injury concerns on defense.

The surprising injury news concerns defensive back Marcus Trufant, who felt something in his hamstring at the end of Thursday’s practice. Coach Pete Carroll said it’s an issue which will make it hard for Trufant to be ready for the game, so they’re listing him as doubtful. Walter Thurmond will suit up and presumably play in Seattle’s nickel defense.

Carroll said defensive end Red Bryant did very little in Friday’s practice, still resting a very sore plantar fasciitis foot injury. Bryant is listed as questionable and according to Carroll he will likely be a game-time decision.

Linebacker Leroy Hill did some cutting and light jogging to test his ankle. Carroll said Hill, also listed a questionable, will be evaluated Saturday and again on game day.

Receiver Sidney Rice had his calf tighten up at the end of Friday’s drills and is also listed as questionable.

Carroll said he and offensive line coach Tom Cable have not yet decided whether James Carpenter or John Moffitt will get the start at left guard.

Overall, Carroll was pleased with the players’ focus and progress. Carroll said the Seahawks could still play their best game of the year and not beat the Bears, because that’s how good a football team Chicago is.

As for Chicago, special teams star Devin Hester (concussion) and offensive lineman Chris Spencer (knee) have both been ruled out. Receiver Alshon Jeffery is listed as doubtful (knee).

On the probable list are running back Matt Forte, linebacker Lance Briggs, cornerback Charles Tillman and tight end Kellen Davis. All of them are dealing with ankle injuries.
