A few notes and thoughts after watching the Seahawks take a 38-0 halftime lead over the visiting Cardinals:

The rout is on. The 38 points the Seahawks have scored so far is a season-high, eight more than they totaled in a win over Minnesota. They’ve scored in all three phases – with two Marshawn Lynch rushing touchdowns, a Malcolm Smith recovery of a muffed punt and a Richard Sherman pick-six. Steven Hauschka also has a field goal. Arizona’s Patrick Peterson, whose muffed punt was recovered by Smith, also fumbled on punt return. Seattle has 238 yards of total offense.

Wilson’s streak over. Russell Wilson is 6 of 12 for 143 yards and a late touchdown pass to Zach Miller. He was intercepted by Peterson while attempting a pass down the sideline intended for Golden Tate. The pick was Wilson’s first at home and his first since Week 8 against Detroit.

Smith starting for Hill. Leroy Hill was active despite an ankle injury, but Smith got the start at outside linebacker. We’ll have to see whether this had more to do with Smith playing well last week or Hill still not being 100 percent. It could be a little of both, of course.

Flynnwatch. Might we see Matt Flynn make his Seahawks debut sometime in the second half? One would have to imagine that’s possible given the 38-point lead and the potential for an injury to Wilson given the Cardinals’ propensity for blitzing. Flynn has not taken a snap this season.

Flags flying. Eleven penalties have been assessed so far, including six on Seattle.
