The Seahawks have had a lengthy list of injuries on their practice reports this week, and they’re going into Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers with a number of significant question marks.

Huard: Dunlap will have ‘wind in his sails’ when he joins Seahawks

During Friday’s Pete Carroll Show on KIRO Radio 97.3 FM, the Seahawks head coach said the team is uncertain how many members of its banged-up running back corps will be able to play, and that a setback for star safety Jamal Adams could keep him out for a fourth straight game.

“We’re going all the way to game day with a few guys here,” Carroll told host Dave Wyman.

Adams, who suffered a groin injury in Week 3 and has been out of action since, was believed to have a chance to return this week. Unfortunately for him and Seattle, he has not been able to test it out in practice this week due to illness.

“Jamal wound up ill in the middle of the week here so it set him back,” Carroll said. “We’ll find out where he is by game day. He will not have had a quality work week so we’ll see what that means.”

Carroll had said on Monday that Adams “really wants to get back but he’s gonna have to show it, that’s he’s capable of doing all the stuff football-wise,” adding that he expected Adams’ status to be up in the air into late in the week. The fact that Adams hasn’t been able to practice doesn’t bode well for his chances to play Sunday.

In the Seahawks’ backfield, while Carroll said “Homer’s coming back” in reference to No. 3 running back Travis Homer, starter Chris Carson (foot sprain) and backup Carlos Hyde (hamstring strain) are at risk of sitting out against San Francisco.

“We’re going to have to see how Chris’ foot is. We’re going all the way to game day on that one. It looks like Carlos (Hyde) has got a hamstring that might keep him from getting in there. So we’ve got some issues,” Carroll said.

The Pete Carroll Show airs Fridays at 8:15 a.m. on KIRO FM’s Seattle’s Morning News and at 4:30 p.m. on 710 ESPN Seattle’s Bob, Dave and Moore.
