Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson has rewritten the franchise’s record books when it comes to passing statistics.

Wassell: Russell Wilson no longer ‘boxed in’ by 1st impression

Wilson owns the franchise career records for passing touchdowns with 246, passing yards with 31,236, QB wins with 91, completion percentage with 64.9%, passer rating with 102.4, fourth-quarter comebacks with 23 and game-winning drives with 30.

But there’s been one record that has, until now, been out of Wilson’s grasp. But when the Seahawks face off with the Arizona Cardinals in Week 7, it is almost a certainty that Wilson will take sole control of that remaining franchise record, which is for the most completions in the history of the Seahawks.

After a 20-32 performance during Week 5’s win over the Minnesota Vikings, Wilson finished the game tied with Seahawks great Matt Hasselbeck for the most completions as a Seattle quarterback with 2,559.

Hasselbeck, who was Seattle’s starting quarterback from 2001 until current head coach Pete Carroll’s first season in Seattle in 2010, held many of the franchise passing records until Wilson arrived in 2012. Up until Wilson took nearly complete control of the Seahawks’ record book, Hasselbeck had the most yards and completions in team history and was second to Dave Krieg in QB wins  and touchdowns.

Now, Wilson outright owns every major quarterback record as far as career statistics go except for completions.

Wilson’s record-tying pass was a big one, as it was a go-ahead fourth-and-goal touchdown to DK Metcalf with just 15 seconds remaining in the Week 5 win over Minnesota.

Hasselbeck, who is an NFL analyst for ESPN, was watching last Sunday, and responded to Wilson tying his completion records with Seahawks Twitter’s favorite phrase.
