Seahawks Football 101: Team effort resulted in safety against Cowboys

For all the problems the Seahawks have had on defense, there have been glimpses of them figuring things out on that side of the ball during their three-game win streak to start the season.

Case in point, the safety the Seahawks registered in their 38-31 victory over the Cowboys in Week 3.

In this week’s Football 101 video, which you watch at the top of this post or at this link, former NFL linebacker and current Seahawks Radio Network color commentator Dave Wyman takes to his trusty whiteboard to break down what Seattle did to tack on two points after the Cowboys muffed a kickoff and had to start a first-half series at their own 1-yard line.

It was a team effort on the play, as Wyman explains, with linebackers K.J. Wright and Bobby Wagner, defensive tackle Bryan Mone and defensive end L.J. Collier all playing a crucial part in bringing down Dallas running back Ezekiel Elliott before he could get out of his own end zone.
