The Seahawks are just about ready to kick off their Week 2 contest with the New England Patriots and their inactives list for the Sunday Night Football Showdown is very similar to their inactives list last week when they defeated the Atlanta Falcons.

Heaps: Seahawks’ D-line, tight ends are critical to beating Patriots

Backup tackle Cedric Ogbuehi and receiver Phillip Dorsett, both free-agent acquisitions this offseason for the Seahawks, are out with pectoral and foot injuries, respectively. For Dorsett, he’s missing the chance to play New England, who he played for the last three years. Dorsett was questionable to play while Ogbuehi was listed as doubtful.

Once again, rookie running back DeeJay Dallas and rookie defensive end Alton Robinson as well as linebacker D’Andre Walker are healthy scratches.

Last week, backup offensive lineman Jamarco Jones was out with an illness, but he is active against the Patriots. This week, defensive end Rasheem Green, who led the Seahawks with four sacks last season, is out after suffering a stinger (neck/shoulder injury) last week against the Falcons. He was listed as doubtful on the team’s injury report Friday.

For the Patriots, the biggest surprise is that running back James White, one of the team’s better pass catchers, was inactive. It was reported that White’s father died in a car accident on Sunday, and his mother, who was also in the vehicle, is in critical condition.

Also inactive are second-round linebacker Josh Uche – who was ruled out on Friday with an ankle injury – as well as backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham, backup left tackle Korey Cunningham, rookie tight end Dalton Keene and undrafted defensive back Myles Bryant, who played at the University of Washington. Keene and Uche were both on the injury report Friday while the rest are healthy scratches.

The Patriots had six players listed as questionable, including No. 1 receiver Julian Edelman and Pro Bowl special teamer Matthew Slater, but those two, along with 2019 first-round receiver N’Keal Harry, starting defensive lineman Adam Butler and starting linebacker Brandon Copeland are all good to go. Keene was the lone player listed as questionable who is not active due to a neck injury.
