Two interceptions, one touchdown, four passes defensed and a shutdown performance all added up to one award for Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman: NFC Defensive Player of the Month.
It’s a career-first for Sherman, and according to the Seahawks he’s the first cornerback in franchise history to win the monthly award.
Thank you everyone but this is an award for the entire defense! LBs… D Line… And of course my brothers in the L.O.B.

Sherman was named the conference’s player of the week after he neutralized San Francisco’s Anquan Boldin in Week 2. Boldin entered the game as the league’s leading receiver after one week. Sherman followed him for most of the night, and he wasn’t in coverage when Boldin recorded his only catch of the game.
Last week, Sherman’s 58-yard interception return was a key play in Seattle’s comeback win over Houston.
