The reputation of Seattle’s 12th Man is a bit intimidating.

“They are a good football team. That’s why they won 10 in a row at home. But the noise obviously complements it,” said Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Munchak.

At Monday’s press conference in Nashville, Tenn., Munchak was only asked about one thing as it pertains to Sunday’s game in Seattle: the 12th Man.

“I don’t think there is any way to get used to it,” said Munchak, who plans to play loud music during practices.

“We’ll have noise and do our thing as we normally do, but again, it can only be so loud,” he said. “Loud is loud. So once I can’t hear someone, I can’t hear someone.”

A reporter told him the noise is so loud at CenturyLink Field that the ground shakes.

Munchak replied, “I’ll be interested in experiencing that.”

More than anything, Munchak is hoping it won’t be a distraction.

“You can’t get caught up in it. You have to realize they’re used to their 12th Man deal and that’s great for them and it’s definitely a special place to play and it’s made a difference for them,” Munchak said. “But for us, we know what to expect. We’ve been dealing with it. Houston was pretty darn loud, Pittsburgh was loud. The difference here, probably, is it’s a little more loud (sic) on second down, not just third down.”

Maybe first down, too, coach.

The Titans will once again be without starting quarterback and former Husky Jake Locker. He suffered a hip injury in Week 4 against the Jets.
