EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Guard James Carpenter will be starting the Super Bowl for the Seahawks, rookie Michael Bowie declared inactive.

Bowie started the divisional playoff game against the Saints, but has been inactive in the two games since then.

The biggest surprise among Seattle’s inactives? Kellen Davis, the No. 3 tight end. He had been active and played in every game for the Seahawks since being signed after the regular-season opener.

Also inactive for Seattle: WR Bryan Walters, RB Christine Michael, T Caylin Hauptmann, DE Benson Mayowa.
