Defensive end Jared Allen spent Sunday visiting with the Seahawks and will make his second free-agent visit later this week with the Cowboys, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.
Allen, 31, is one of the top pass rushers of his generation, recording at least 11 sacks in eight of his 10 NFL seasons. He would fill a need for the Seahawks, who released Chris Clemons last week and have also parted ways with their other starting defensive end, Red Bryant.
The fact that Allen left Seattle without a contract doesn’t necessarily mean he won’t come back as Rapoport reports that he’s gauging his market before making his decision and may retire if the right deal isn’t there.
