Seahawks strong safety Kam Chancellor will undergo minor surgery to repair a lingering hip issue, ESPN’s John Clayton reported Tuesday.

Clayton’s report specified that the procedure isn’t considered to be significant and that it is less severe than the one that sidelined wide receiver Percy Harvin for most of the 2013 season.
When describing Harvin’s injury last summer, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Chancellor had played through something similar the year before. Chancellor hasn’t missed a game over the past two seasons, though he appeared on the injury report three times in 2013 with his hip as the specified issue.
This would mark the second consecutive offseason surgery for Chancellor, whose ankle was operated on last year.
According to Clayton, a date for his latest surgery has yet to be determined.
