It sounds unlikely that Mariners fans will see top prospect Jarred Kelenic playing in a major league game at at T-Mobile Park in 2020. That’s not stopping Kelenic from doing his best to force Seattle’s hand, though.

Drayer: Impressions and observations 10 days into M’s Summer Camp

Kelenic provided the biggest highlights of Monday’s intrasquad game at Mariners Summer Camp, pulling a Kyle Lewis and drilling a pair of home runs into the bleachers past the right field wall. And to make it more impressive, he was indiscriminate when it came to the pitchers he hit those homers he hit.

The first for the lefty-swinging Kelenic came against left-hander Nestor Cortes, who left a fastball up that the 20-year-old outfielder caught up to – and then some. And after showing his patience with a walk against right Yohan Ramirez his next time up, Kelenic got another pitch he could do something with against veteran right Carl Edwards Jr. to leave the park for the second time in three plate appearances. You can watch both homers back to back in the video below.

Safe to say Kelenic is getting his birthday week off to a pretty strong start (he turns 21 on Thursday). Just don’t tell Mets fans – they tend to not take it well when you update them on the latest exploits of their team’s 2018 first-round draft pick.

For more on Kelenic’s day, check out Mariners insider Shannon Drayer’s notebook post here.

Kelenic wasn’t the only Mariners prospect to show off at the plate on Monday. First baseman Evan White also had a big at-bat, stroking a ringing double to the right-center field gap off of Ramirez (you can watch that video here).

You can keep up with intrasquad action throughout the week on the Mariners’ YouTube channel. Here’s a look at what’s on the docket:

• Tuesday: Aaron Goldsmith and Gary Hill on the call
• Wednesday: Rick Rizzs and Gary Hill
• Thursday: Dave Sims and Gary Hill

The intrasquad games will all begin at 2:45 p.m.

The Mariners are 11 days away from starting the MLB season in Houston against the defending American League champion Astros on Friday, July 24.
