For the first time since spring training was cut short in March, M’s baseball will air live on 710 ESPN Seattle this Friday, July 10. It will be a different kind of game, however, as the Mariners will be playing… the Mariners.
Coverage of the team’s first intrasquad game of Summer Camp at T-Mobile Park will begin at 2:30 p.m., with Rick Rizzs, the voice of the Mariners, being joined by longtime broadcast partner Aaron Goldsmith on the call. The broadcast will continue until 5 p.m.
The M’s are getting ready for an abbreviated 60-game MLB season, which will begin with a series in Houston against the Astros on Friday, July 24. Marco Gonzales was announced to be the starter for that opening day game by manager Scott Servais on Wednesday.
For more on the team leading up to Friday’s intrasquad game and throughout Summer Camp, check out insider Shannon Drayer’s coverage right here on 710Sports.com. According to Drayer, left-hander Justus Sheffield and right-hander Justin Dunn are each scheduled to throw two innings in the seven-inning contest.
And until the M’s return to official play, keep tuning in to 710 ESPN Seattle every night at 7 p.m. for a different classic game from M’s history. Full schedule and details here.
